Yorkshire Winter Pairs

An off-season event for Yorkshire golfers.

The Yorkshire Matchplay Winter Pairs is a knockout competition for amateur golfers in Yorkshire played throughout the off-season (October to March).

It allows players to keep their game in shape by retaining an element of competitive golf during the winter period whilst also having the chance to play new courses.

Below is a summary of the competition. We are limited on the number of pairs that we can accept so book early.

Summary:

• £15 per pair entry-fee

• Entries close Friday 21st October 2011

• 4-Ball Betterball Matchplay

• Early rounds contested on a regional basis to minimise traveling

• Draw made for home advantage in each round

• 3/4 handicap difference

• Approx 1 month to complete each round

The final...

Eight pairs will qualify for the final at Huddersfield Golf Club on Friday 30th March 2012.

Here play will switch to Betterball Stableford with the pair scoring the most points declared the overall champions.

There will be no green-fees to pay at Fixby with brunch & dinner also included.

At the moment this winter competition is only run in Yorkshire. We hope to extend it to other regions for the 2012-12 season. If you would be interested in playing in this type of event do let us know so that we can gauge interest.
