Regional Finals

To reach your regional final you need to win a maximum of just six matches.

Four individuals and four pairs qualify for each regional final. There will be no green-fees to pay and food is included at each venue.

Regional finals continue with the matchplay format and consist of a semi-final followed by either a final for the winners or a 3rd place play-off for the losers.

We have hand selected one of the finest courses in each region to host our finals. Each venue has hosted the English Amateur Championship and is ranked inside the top 25 golf courses in England.

Vouchers are awarded to the runners-up and 3rd place play-off winners whilst the victorious individual and pair at each venue go forward to our grand final at Arcos Gardens Golf Club & Country Estate near Cadiz in Spain over the 14th-18th October 2012.

North West Final @ Formby Golf Club

This region is for golfers who are a member of a golf club affiliated to the Lancashire or Cheshire Union of Golf Clubs.

The North West regional final will be held at Formby Golf Club on Monday 1st & Tuesday 2nd October 2012.

Semi-finals will be played on the afternoon of Monday 1st October with the winners playing a final the following morning. A 3rd place play-off will also take place on the second day for the semi-final losers. 

Dormy House accommodation has been reserved for those wishing to stay over but please note this is optional and not included.

Formby is currently ranked as the 12th best golf course in England and has hosted the English Amateur Championship on no less than five occasions.

It has also been the venue for The (British) Amateur Championship four times, the most recent in 2009 when Matteo Manaserro won. It also produced another famous winner when José María Olazábal defeated Colin Montgomerie in the 1984 final.

North East & Cumbria Final @ Silloth on Solway Golf Club

This region is for golfers who are a member of a golf club affiliated to the Durham, Northumberland or Cumbria Union of Golf Clubs.

The North East & Cumbria regional final will be held at Silloth on Solway Golf Club on Monday 24th September 2012.

Semi-finals will be played in the morning with the winners playing a final in the afternoon. A 3rd place play-off will also take place after lunch for the semi-final losers. 

Silloth on Solway is currently ranked as the 21st best golf course in England and will host the English Amateur Championship in 2012.  It is also a regular choice by the R&A as an Open Championship qualifying venue.

Yorkshire Final @ Alwoodley Golf Club

This region is for golfers who are a member of a golf club affiliated to the Yorkshire Union of Golf Clubs.

The Yorkshire regional final will be held at Alwoodley Golf Club on Wednesday 26th September 2012.

Semi-finals will be played in the morning with the winners playing a final in the afternoon. A 3rd place play-off will also take place after lunch for the semi-final losers. 

Alwoodley is currently ranked as the 24th best golf course in England and hosted the English Amateur Championship in 2003. It is also a regular choice by the R&A as an Open Championship qualifying venue.
